Broadway will soon host a new musical, "Galileo," inspired by the life of the renowned scientist Galileo Galilei. The production is slated to commence preview performances on November 10 at the Shubert Theatre, with its official opening night set for December 6.
Danny Strong penned the book for "Galileo," while Zoe Sarnak and Michael Weiner composed the original score. The musical will be directed by Tony Award winner Michael Mayer and choreographed by Tony Award nominee David Neumann.
Four-time Tony Award nominee Raúl Esparza will star as Galileo Galilei, marking his first Broadway appearance in over thirteen years. The musical's synopsis describes it as an "electrifying and emotional" story about a scientist whose astronomical discoveries revolutionized humanity's understanding of the universe, forcing him to defend his findings against a powerful religious institution.
