1 Sep
Summary
- Gadot claims Gunn and Safran promised her Wonder Woman 3 return.
- Sources deny promises were made regarding Gadot's sequel.
- Gal Gadot says she's unlikely to return as Wonder Woman.

Gal Gadot recently shared in a podcast interview that DC Studios leaders James Gunn and Peter Safran assured her they planned to develop "Wonder Woman 3" with her reprising the titular role. Gadot stated they told her, "We're going to do develop it with you. The third [movie]..." She recalled similar assurances from meetings in 2023.
However, sources speaking exclusively to Variety around the same time contradicted Gadot's claims. These sources stated that "Wonder Woman 3" was not in development and that no promises were made to Gadot about her continuing as Wonder Woman in the new DC Universe.
Gadot, who first appeared as Wonder Woman in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," also commented on the handling of other actors and directors. She referenced the situation with Henry Cavill and Patty Jenkins, noting it "was not handled elegantly." Jenkins had been developing a third "Wonder Woman" film with Gadot before Gunn and Safran took over DC Studios in December 2022.
Jenkins later clarified that "Wonder Woman 3" had fallen apart after leadership passed on her treatment, and she had not walked away from the project herself. She expressed understanding of the difficult decisions DC faced during its leadership changes.
Regarding a potential return, Gadot mentioned on the podcast that she would likely not reprise the role of Wonder Woman even if the opportunity arose again. She cited her current life with four children and associated logistical challenges as reasons why such a commitment would not be feasible for her now.
