A critically acclaimed and costly Gaelic television drama is set to return for a second season. "An t-Eilean" (The Island), a four-part thriller focusing on a murder investigation, was the BBC's first Gaelic crime drama.
The production, which reportedly cost over £1 million per episode for its initial run, is produced by Black Camel Pictures. Filming for the upcoming series is scheduled to commence in the spring, largely taking place on location in the picturesque Western Isles.
Detective Sergeant Kat Crichton, reprised by Sorcha Groundsell, will once again lead the investigation as a killer stalks the islands. The new series is funded by a collaboration including MG Alba, BBC, Screen Scotland, Black Camel Pictures, and Highlands and Islands Enterprise.
