Gabourey Sidibe Defends Twins' Hair: 'Not For Aesthetics'

Actress Gabourey Sidibe has addressed criticism regarding her 23-month-old twins' hair. Sidibe stated on Instagram Threads that she would block users who commented negatively about her children's hair, emphasizing that she did not have children for aesthetic purposes. She explained that her active toddlers frequently get food in their hair during meals, necessitating multiple daily grooming sessions. Sidibe added that her daughter's hair is braided weekly but is not immediately re-braided if it becomes fuzzy shortly after.

Sidibe humorously shared that impressing online viewers with constantly groomed children is not a priority. She also recounted an instance where she wore her wigs so her children could style their hair with them, joking about her own appearance to highlight their fashionable looks. Her husband, Brandon Frankel, engaged playfully in the comments, acknowledging her dedication to their children. Sidibe welcomed her twins, Cooper and Maya, in April 2024 and has shared moments of their lives since, including visits to her film sets.
