The Futala Musical Fountain in Nagpur is set to resume operations soon, following a nearly two-year shutdown. These parts are critical for the fountain's pumping system, marking a final technical step before trial runs commence. The components were sourced from France after a thorough assessment of the existing equipment.
Belgian project head Basile de Schrynmakers will be in Nagpur from August 15 to 27 to supervise the installation. His focus will be on integrating the mechanical and electrical systems and ensuring the new parts work seamlessly with the upgraded infrastructure. He will also review ongoing work progress.
Recent months have seen substantial progress, with the specialised cable network largely installed and electrical panels connected. The lighting system's development is also advancing well. The fountain had been non-operational for almost two years, leading to significant wear on its systems. MahaMetro has been managing the restoration in phases, including replacing cables and refurbishing electrical systems.
