FTX collapsed in late 2022 following a surge in customer withdrawals that exposed an $8 billion deficit. Bankman-Fried was convicted of fraud and conspiracy in November 2023. Ellison testified against him after pleading guilty to related charges, marking the dramatic conclusion of their alleged illicit activities.
