Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler, known as the tag team FTR, have announced they are taking an extended hiatus from All Elite Wrestling (AEW).
Harwood revealed a significant list of injuries, including a labrum tear, a shoulder requiring replacement, and an untreated bicep tear. He cited the demanding schedule since 2014, with the team often working multiple shows weekly. This break is intended for both physical and mental recovery, as well as time with their families.
FTR relinquished their AEW World Tag Team Championship after an I Quit match last month and have not appeared on AEW programming since. Despite their current break, they are scheduled to compete at the end of August against Ken Anderson and Doc Gallows.
Wheeler also expressed a desire for FTR to participate in New Japan Pro-Wrestling's (NJPW) World Tag League before they potentially retire, fulfilling a long-held ambition.
