Samuel L. Jackson is set to lead Frisco King, a new series on Paramount+ created by Taylor Sheridan. The show follows Russell Lee Washington Jr., a gangster from New Orleans who moves to Frisco, Texas, to establish a criminal empire. This series is a spinoff of the popular show Tulsa King, featuring a cameo from Sylvester Stallone's character, Dwight "The General" Manfredi.
Originally conceived as NOLA King, the series underwent a title change and was penned entirely by Sheridan for its eight-episode first season. The plot centers on Lee Washington's efforts to transform small hustles into a significant criminal enterprise, recruiting various partners along the way. His ambition, however, escalates the risks involved.
Jackson's character was first introduced in the third season of Tulsa King, where he initially planned to eliminate Dwight but ultimately formed an alliance. This connection leads Lee to consider starting anew, eventually finding his opportunity in Frisco.
The supporting cast includes Asa Germann as Lee's protégé Teddy, Kai Caster as his driver Keith, Lilah Pate and Savanna Gann as cheerleaders London and Avery, respectively. Sylvester Stallone will appear in multiple episodes.
Frisco King is scheduled to premiere on December 18 with a two-episode launch, followed by new episodes every Friday.
