Summary
- Carlotta Films and Artcraft Pictures inked a deal for French distribution rights.
- The partnership launches with a restored version of Clara Bow's 'It'.
- Several silent and early sound Hollywood classics are part of the deal.

French classic film distributor Carlotta Films has partnered with U.S. restoration company Artcraft Pictures. This collaboration will grant Carlotta exclusive rights to represent Artcraft's catalogue across all formats within France. The agreement aims to introduce French audiences to a curated selection of Hollywood's silent and early sound era treasures.
The partnership's debut is marked by a special screening at Lyon's Lumière Film Festival. The event features a newly restored version of the 1927 romantic comedy "It," which famously starred Clara Bow. This iconic film is set to screen on October 17.
Several other significant films are included in this agreement. Notable titles are Herbert Brenon's "Beau Geste" (1926) and Cecil B. DeMille's "The Affairs of Anatol" (1921). The slate also extends to early sound films like Lionel Barrymore's "His Glorious Night" (1929).
Artcraft Pictures was founded by esteemed film preservationists James Mockoski and Robert A. Harris. They share a mission with Carlotta Films to preserve cinematic heritage for contemporary viewers. This initiative aims to prevent classic films from fading into obscurity.
Carlotta plans to release these restored films theatrically and on Blu-ray in France. The Lumière Film Festival, where this collaboration was announced, runs through October 18.
