French film and series producer Ego Productions, a label within the Mediawan Group, has signed a memorandum of understanding with Seoul-based Flix Oven. This agreement will see the two companies jointly develop and produce a slate of films and series.
The collaboration was formalized during a state visit to South Korea by French President Emmanuel Macron, celebrating 140 years of diplomatic relations between France and Korea. Representatives from both Mediawan and Flix Oven, along with French and Korean film industry officials, attended the signing ceremony.
This partnership signals a strategic move for Flix Oven to expand its footprint in international co-productions, building on the success of its recent Netflix feature, "Made In Korea." The collaboration is intended to foster the creation of original stories, moving beyond simple IP remakes and establishing a new creative ecosystem.
Both governments have shown elevated support for France-Korea screen ties, with plans for a joint Moving Image Summit in France on September 7. Series Mania also previously recognized Korea as its country of honor.
