Former WWE Star Braun Strowman Eyeing Iconic Horror Role
28 Sep, 2025
Summary
- Braun Strowman interested in playing Jason Voorhees in Friday the 13th
- Strowman believes his imposing physique makes him perfect for the role
- Strowman has a new horror movie and TV show in the works

As pro wrestlers continue to make the transition into film acting, one former WWE star is setting his sights on a major horror icon. Braun Strowman, who was released from the WWE in May 2025, is now actively pursuing the role of Jason Voorhees in the Friday the 13th franchise.
Strowman, who stands at an imposing 6'8" and 335 pounds, believes his physical presence makes him the perfect fit for the slasher villain. "The beautiful thing about a character like Jason is that it's all in the look and the physical performance," he recently told Collider. "I'd argue that the role requires less acting skills than perhaps when The Miz wanted to play Johnny Cage in Mortal Kombat 2, and if we're talking about casting someone who's both imposing and intimidating, Strowman is a no-brainer."
The actor has been keeping busy since his WWE departure, with a new horror movie called Deathgasm 2 set for release and a new TV show called Everything on the Menu with Braun Strowman scheduled to air on USA Network in late October 2025. However, it seems Strowman is still hungry for more high-profile projects, and the chance to play Jason Voorhees would be a dream come true.
While the next Friday the 13th project is still in development, with Peacock's prequel series Crystal Lake currently in the works, Strowman may already be in discussions to take on the iconic role. Fans will have to wait and see if the former WWE star's wish becomes a reality.
