Former 'Southern Charm' Star Kathryn Dennis Sentenced to 30 Days in Jail for 2024 DUI Crash

In a recent development, Kathryn Dennis, a former cast member of the Bravo reality series 'Southern Charm', has been sentenced to 30 days in jail for her involvement in a drunk driving crash that occurred in 2024.

The incident took place in Goose Creek, South Carolina, where Dennis was found guilty of driving under the influence. According to the police report, officers at the scene noted that Dennis had "glossy eyes and an odor of alcohol" at the time of her arrest. An unopened mini-bottle of Fireball and an empty tumbler were also discovered in her vehicle.

Dennis, who was a main cast member on 'Southern Charm' from season 2 to season 8, has had a well-documented history of struggles with alcohol during her time on the show. Bravo cameras had previously captured her lengthy custody battle with her former partner, Thomas Ravenel, where her sobriety was called into question.

After initially denying the offense, Dennis eventually confessed to drinking "way earlier" during questioning at a local detention center. She was taken into custody around 7 p.m. ET on Friday, October 3, 2025, to begin serving her 30-day sentence at the Berkeley County jail.

This latest incident marks a significant setback for Dennis, who had previously regained 50/50 parental rights of her two children in 2017 after staying sober for two years. The former reality star had also announced her departure from 'Southern Charm' in January 2023, citing the need to focus on the "next chapter" of her life.
