Filipino Friendship & Mythical Quests in New Movie

Dreamworks' animated film, Forgotten Island, explores the profound bond between two best friends, Jo and Raissa, at a critical juncture in their lives. The narrative kicks off just as Raissa is preparing to leave The Philippines for college in America, a moment that becomes a catalyst for an unexpected adventure.

Their journey takes a fantastical turn when they are transported to Nakali, a mystical island whose name is derived from the Tagalog word 'nakalimutan,' meaning forgotten. Here, the friends must navigate a realm filled with mythological creatures and face formidable challenges.

Central to their quest is confronting a vengeful manananggal, voiced by Lea Salonga, adding an element of thrilling suspense. The film also prompts the characters to recall memories of a wild night, weaving a tapestry of personal reflection and shared experience.

The movie has garnered significant attention for its heartwarming portrayal of friendship and its incorporation of rich Filipino folklore, appealing to audiences with its emotional depth and imaginative storytelling.
