Florida Filmmaker Lands Role in "Hunger Games" Prequel

In a highly anticipated move, Lionsgate has announced the selection of Devon Singletary, a Florida-based actor and filmmaker, to appear in the upcoming "Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping" prequel film. The announcement comes five months after the studio launched an open casting call for fans to audition for a role in the sixth installment of the popular franchise.

Singletary's reaction to the news was captured on video, which was shared on "The Hunger Games" Instagram page. In the clip, the excited actor expressed his disbelief and enthusiasm, saying, "I'm blown away. I'm really just speechless. I'm super excited."

Singletary will be playing the role of Blair, a close friend of Haymitch Abernathy and Burdock Everdeen, Katniss' father, in the prequel film. The video also showed Singletary arriving on set for his first day of filming, further emphasizing his excitement to be a part of the "Hunger Games" universe.

The "Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping" prequel is set to revisit the world of Panem nearly a quarter of a century before the events of the original "Hunger Games" saga. The film will focus on the 50th Hunger Games, known as the Second Quarter Quell, in which Haymitch Abernathy enters the deadly arena.
