Florian Zeller, the world-renowned playwright who made his directorial debut with the Oscar-winning film 'The Father' starring Anthony Hopkins, has recently joined the prestigious Académie Française in France. Founded in 1635, the Académie Française is a prestigious literary society that has played a significant role in shaping French culture and preserving the country's language over time.
At the age of 46, Zeller is now the second youngest member ever elected to the Académie Française, following Cyrano de Bergerac who joined in 1901 at the age of 33. Zeller's acclaimed works, including 'The Father' and 'The Son', have traveled around the world, and he is currently in pre-production on his third feature film, 'Bunker'. This psychological thriller will start filming in Spain next month, starring Penelope Cruz, Javier Bardem, and Stephen Graham.
In other news, actor Simon Rex has been tapped to star in the comedy thriller 'God Bless You, Mr Kopu', which is being launched at the American Film Market (AFM) by Radiant Films and AC Independent.
