Florence Pugh to Star in 'The Midnight Library' Film

Florence Pugh will star as Nora Seed in the upcoming film adaptation of Matt Haig's bestselling novel, 'The Midnight Library.' This marks a reunion for Pugh with director Garth Davis, who previously collaborated on Netflix's 'East of Eden.'

The story centers on Nora Seed, a woman who finds herself in a library between life and death after attempting suicide. Each book in the library offers her a chance to live a different version of her life, exploring paths not taken and the consequences of her choices.

Based on Haig's 2020 novel, which has sold over 15 million copies, the film aims to translate Nora's internal journey of regret and self-discovery to the screen. Screenplay adaptation is being handled by Laura Wade and Nick Payne.

StudioCanal and Blueprint Pictures acquired the rights in 2020, with pre-production now scheduled to begin in Fall 2026. Pugh will also serve as a producer on the project.
