Fleur East: Strictly Host Dream Dashed

Fleur East has publicly shared her feelings about not being chosen to host the main Strictly Come Dancing series. The 'Hits Radio Breakfast Show' host, who has presented the spin-off 'It Takes Two' since 2023, admitted on air that she is "bothered" by missing the opportunity.

East, who competed on Strictly in 2022, had been a rumored candidate for the main presenting role following Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly's planned departure in 2025. She confessed to having "lied to myself" about being fine with not getting the job, acknowledging the significant career advancement it represents.

Reports suggest that Emma Willis has been offered the presenting gig, potentially alongside former Strictly professional Johannes Radebe, though this is not yet officially confirmed. Zoe Ball and other rumored candidates like Rylan Clark are reportedly no longer in contention.

Furthermore, East's own position on 'It Takes Two' is uncertain as the BBC is reportedly considering a "refresh" of the spin-off, which may transition into a vodcast. While speculation suggests East and co-host Janette Manrara might not continue, the BBC has stated it is "factually incorrect to claim that either has been axed."

The final lineup for Strictly's presenting team is expected to be announced this weekend, coinciding with the BBC's coverage of the Eurovision Song Contest.
