Flawless, a British-American company that invested $100 million in AI dubbing technology, has sold its intellectual property. The TrueSync dubbing technology and DeepEditor AI post-production tool were acquired by TBellScout, a startup founded by Dutch tech billionaire Steven Schuurman. This transaction occurred shortly after Flawless Holdings Limited, the company's UK trading arm, filed for administration, a UK insolvency proceeding akin to Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
Insolvency specialist BTG took control of Flawless' operations and facilitated the sale of the technology to TBellScout. This move was initiated after Sprk Capital, a UK tech lender, appointed BTG as administrator. Flawless' technology, praised by TIME Magazine, has been utilized in hundreds of Hollywood productions, enabling dialogue and performance changes without costly reshoots.
While Flawless Holdings Limited entered administration, the U.S. entity, Flawless AI Inc., remains under the control of co-founders Scott Mann and Nick Lynes. The duo reportedly cultivated Hollywood relationships through a consent-based approach to AI and are exploring new ventures. Flawless' technology has been featured in films like 'Fall' and 'Watch the Skies.'
