Fisherman's Friends, a renowned shanty group from Port Isaac, has been formally invited to perform at Catherine, Princess of Wales' highly anticipated annual Christmas carol concert. The service, themed 'the power of love and togetherness,' is set to take place in the historic Westminster Abbey.
Group member Jon Cleave expressed immense honour and excitement about the royal request, noting they have been practicing a specific, undisclosed song. The Princess of Wales' initiative aims to recognize individuals nationwide who have made significant contributions to their communities through volunteerism and acts of kindness.
Westminster Abbey will host 1,600 guests for the service, each selected for their dedicated service and community impact. The Royal Foundation of the Prince and Princess of Wales organized the event to highlight empathy and unity across the country.
