Summary
- Sisu sequel promises more action and bloodshed
- Director Jalmari Helander hates film censorship, calls it "destroying someone's art"
- Sisu sequel used "a lot" of fake blood, with camera operators wearing rain jackets

In November 2025, the Finnish director Jalmari Helander is gearing up for the release of Sisu: Road To Revenge, the sequel to his 2022 action hit Sisu. Helander promises that the new film will feature even more intense action and bloodshed than the first installment, which already garnered considerable praise for its thrilling sequences.
Discussing the production, Helander reveals that the Sisu sequel used "a lot" of fake blood, with camera operators having to wear rain jackets and safety goggles due to the sheer volume of the red liquid flying around the set. Helander believes this trend of heightened on-screen violence has been picking up in recent years, noting that even 10 years ago, a film like Sisu might not have been possible.
