While a title and release date remain unannounced, Hamaguchi expressed hope for a release not too far in the future, with an official reveal anticipated this year. He emphasized that the final installment will introduce new gameplay elements, avoiding repetition from the previous games.
Development for the third game benefits from high staff retention, with around 95% of the team from Final Fantasy VII Rebirth returning. This continuity ensures a streamlined production. Hamaguchi confirmed the inclusion of fan-favorite locations such as Rocket Town and Wutai, and hinted at expanded gameplay mechanics involving the Highwind airship.
