A carpenter, Chandradhari Yadav, lost his life in a recent electric shock accident on the Mumbai set of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film 'Love and War'. The incident occurred three days ago at Filmcity, where shooting was underway. Bhansali Productions has offered Rs 40 lakh as compensation to Yadav's surviving wife and two daughters.
The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has intervened, advocating for a higher compensation of Rs 50 lakh, emphasizing the need for financial support for the victim's young children's education. FWICE president BN Tiwari also stressed the urgent requirement for improved safety measures on all film sets and better regulation of working hours for technicians.
'Love and War,' starring Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, and Alia Bhatt, is slated for a January 21, 2027, Republic Day release. This film will mark the reunion of Ranbir and Alia after their 2022 film 'Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva'. The film is Bhansali's first directorial venture since the successful 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' in 2022.
Ranbir Kapoor had previously mentioned that 'Love and War' would be released after his film 'Ramayana: Part I,' expected around Diwali this year. The movie is scheduled for release in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages.
