The American Cinematheque is set to host its 5th annual Tribute to the Crafts, recognizing the pivotal work of filmmakers behind the camera. The event shines a spotlight on artisans whose contributions are essential to cinematic creation.
Esteemed production designer Jack Fisk, known for his work on films like "Killers of the Flower Moon" and "There Will Be Blood," will be presented with the Career Achievement Award. Additionally, the late Andrew J. Kuehn Jr., celebrated for his innovative marketing strategies in reshaping movie trailers, will receive the Unsung Hero Award. His legacy is further honored with the introduction of a new category for Best Trailer.
The ceremony, featuring 13 craft categories, will be held on January 16th at the historic Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood. Grant Moninger, the Cinematheque's Artistic Director, expressed enthusiasm for the caliber of work recognized this year, noting the jury's abundance of worthy selections.
