The mysterious horror film "Ferine," directed by Andrea Corsini, will have its international premiere at Fantasia's Cheval Noir Competition on July 23. This feature directorial debut centers on Irene, portrayed by Carolyn Bracken, an affluent art collector whose life is shattered by tragedy after adopting a child.
As Irene's grief morphs into primal mourning, she encounters Dama, played by Caroline Goodall. Dama, a trafficker of exotic animals, identifies Irene as a woman who has become a dangerous predator. The film's score is by legendary composer Pino Donaggio.
"Ferine" has a significant history with Fantasia, having originated from the festival's development programs. Fantasia's artistic director praised the film as a stunning return to Italian horror cinema.
