Thousands have already tuned in to watch the unveiling of this year's Fenwick's Christmas window. The highly anticipated festive display at the Newcastle department store features a theme inspired by Dame Julia Donaldson's cherished book, "The Gruffalo's Child."
Dame Donaldson expressed her delight, stating it was wonderful to see her work brought to life for families. This collaboration with the author and German illustrator Axel Scheffler marks a fulfillment of the store's long-held ambition to feature the popular characters.
For the fifth year running, a unique musical score accompanied the visual spectacle. Composed in partnership with the Glasshouse International Centre for Music, the piece was performed by the Royal Northern Sinfonia, reimagining Edvard Grieg's 'In the Hall of the Mountain King' with festive sounds.
