Veteran actress Felicity Kendal, aged 79, is returning to the stage for a new production of Cole Porter's musical 'High Society' at the Barbican. This marks her second foray into musical theatre, following her acclaimed role in 'Anything Goes' just four years prior.
She will be joined by Helen George, known for 'Call The Midwife,' who is set to embody the character of Tracy Lord, a role famously portrayed by Grace Kelly in the 1956 film. The musical promises a "sparkling evening of comedy, romance, and sheer musical joy."
The production is scheduled for an eight-week run at the Barbican starting May 16, before embarking on a national tour. Tickets for the London shows go on sale on Monday.
