The Felice Brothers are receiving long-overdue recognition with the release of 'Felice County Fair: A Celebration of the Felice Brothers' on October 16th, under Sony Records. This tribute album will showcase more than two dozen songs, featuring contributions from prominent roots music artists.
The Felice Brothers, established in the mid-2000s by three brothers, have become a highly influential force in roots music over the past 20 years. Despite lineup changes, the songwriting duo of James and Ian Felice has consistently shaped the music of their contemporaries and younger artists.
Artists like The Lumineers and Bright Eyes have championed the band, with Wesley Schultz of The Lumineers stating they 'don't want them to be the best kept secret in music anymore.' Bright Eyes' Conor Oberst has even collaborated with them, releasing their 2024 album 'Valley of Abandoned Songs' on his label and using them as his backing band.
Felice County Fair will feature contributions from notable artists such as Nathaniel Rateliff, Dawes, Brandon Flowers, and Deer Tick, among others. The Lumineers will cover "The Kid" from 2017, while Bright Eyes reinterpret "Wonderful Life," a ballad from the band's classic 2008 self-titled album.
