23 Sep
Summary
- Fatima Shaikh identifies as a feminist, advocating for equal rights.

- Shaikh stars as a police officer in the upcoming series Hunkkaar: The Roar.
Fatima Shaikh has asserted her continued identification as a feminist, clarifying that the term is often wrongly perceived. She stated that her feminism stems from a desire for equal rights, not from seeking to undermine men's rights. Shaikh finds it surprising that some actresses distance themselves from the feminist label.
She cited Priyanka Chopra Jonas as an inspiration, noting that Chopra openly identifies as a feminist and has maintained a significant male fanbase. Shaikh believes that a clear intention and articulate approach can lead to wider acceptance of feminist ideals.
Shaikh will soon be seen portraying a police officer in the upcoming Hindi crime thriller Hunkkaar: The Roar. In the series, her character investigates a sexual assault accusation against a spiritual guru.
The series, which also features Aneet Padda, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Arjun Mathur, and Raghubir Yadav, is directed by Nitya Mehra and Karan D. Kapadia. Hunkkaar: The Roar is scheduled to premiere on JioHotstar on September 25, 2026.
