Universal Studios Hollywood has launched its new Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift roller coaster, offering an immersive experience for fans of the film franchise. The attraction is currently in a soft opening phase, meaning it may be operational but subject to temporary closures for adjustments. This period allows the park to refine operations and address external concerns.
The park is actively working on managing noise complaints stemming from rider excitement. Despite testing confirming compliance with local sound ordinances, extra noise-reduction measures are being implemented. Visitors planning a trip are advised to confirm operational status due to the soft opening.
Designed by Intamin, the coaster features 4,100 feet of track with 360-degree spins and speeds reaching 72 mph. The ride vehicles are meticulously designed to resemble iconic cars from the films, including Dominic Toretto's 1970 Dodge Charger R/T and Brian O'Conner's Nissan Skyline GT-R R34. The ride also incorporates programmed spins synchronized with on-board audio for a disorienting yet thrilling experience. Universal Orlando Resort is also developing its own Fast & Furious coaster.
