Fassbender & Vikander: Marriage Secret?

Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander made a striking appearance at the Cannes Film Festival for the premiere of their upcoming period drama, 'Hope'. The couple, who were seen smiling and holding hands on the red carpet, shared that they filmed their individual scenes for the movie separately. This decision was attributed to Fassbender's demanding schedule, which included shooting for 'Black Bag' and 'The Agency'.

Vikander had previously disclosed that she and Fassbender welcomed their second child just before they began filming 'Hope' in South Korea. The film, directed by Na Hong-jin, is set in a secluded harbor town where a mysterious discovery is made. Fassbender noted their admiration for director Na Hong-jin's previous works, such as 'The Whaling' and 'The Chaser', and mentioned that Vikander initially connected with the director about the project.

Fassbender humorously attributed their separate filming to a 'stipulation' to maintain their marriage, though he clarified it was strictly due to scheduling. He shot his scenes with a stand-in for Vikander, who later reciprocated the same for him. The couple, who welcomed their first child in 2021, have kept their children's names private.
