Mezzo-soprano Fanny Lora is bringing her acclaimed concert series, "Mano a Mano: Arias in Dialogue," to Holliston Town Hall on Saturday, June 6, at 7:30 p.m. This event promises a unique cultural experience for local music lovers.
The concert's program will feature a captivating selection of operatic arias and art songs. It aims to highlight the profound musical connections between European opera and the rich traditions of Spanish and Latin American music.
Seven world premieres of newly arranged works by composer Laura Intravia have been commissioned for this series. These new pieces will be performed alongside a Boston-based chamber ensemble, enhancing the exploration of identity, love, and community themes.
The "Mano a Mano" series, created by Lora, seeks to explore coexistence and uncover shared ground between diverse musical traditions and classical Hispanic music. The Dominican Republic's Ministry of Culture in New England supports this initiative.
Lora and the "Mano a Mano" ensemble were previously honored with an official Citation of Congratulations at the State House on March 3 for their contributions to the arts in the commonwealth. Tickets for the Holliston concert are available online.
