Edmund Donovan has secured a starring role opposite sisters Dakota and Elle Fanning in "The Nightingale," TriStar's feature adaptation of Kristin Hannah's beloved bestseller. The novel, which has sold over 11 million copies globally and been translated into 45 languages, centers on two sisters navigating perilous paths during World War II in occupied France.
Directed by Michael Morris and penned by Dana Stevens, "The Nightingale" has had a complex development path since TriStar acquired film rights in 2015. After various creative teams attached and detached, the Fanning sisters joined the project in 2019. Despite pandemic-related delays, the film is now set for release on February 12, 2027.
Donovan's recent credits include "Late Fame," "Echo Valley," and "Civil War." His breakout performance in "Greater Clements" earned him multiple awards. The film adaptation of "The Nightingale" promises to bring the emotionally resonant story of survival, love, and freedom to the screen.
