After seven years, Sydney punk band FANGZ is entering an indefinite hiatus, concluding their run with a final single, 'VOID,' and four farewell concerts. The single, 'VOID,' produced by Daniel Antix and mixed by Tim Maxwell, features thrashy riffs, frenetic drums, and angst-fueled vocals, exploring self-deception and the difficulty of moving on from past passions. Bassist Jameel Majam noted the song's poignant relevance to the band's decision.
Formed in 2019, FANGZ established themselves through three EPs, several singles, and their debut album 'Shui,' which charted on the ARIA Australian Albums Chart. They garnered support from triple j and shared stages with notable punk acts. Beyond music, FANGZ organized their own mini-festival, FANGZstock, launched hot sauce, and completed a rapid east coast tour. Notably, band member Cottreau holds a Guinness World Record for consuming hard-boiled eggs.
The band's final tour, the VOID Final Tour, is scheduled for December 2026. It includes performances at Melbourne's Bergy Bandroom on December 11, Sydney's Waywards on December 12, Brisbane's Black Bear Lodge on December 18, and Newcastle's Stag & Hunter on December 19. Tickets for these farewell shows are currently on sale.
