Andrew Ure, the charismatic lead singer of Falkirk band The Ray Summers, has died. He was 41 years old at the time of his passing on December 31, 2025. Ure had gone hillwalking on Hogmanay to try out new birthday gear but tragically did not return home.
His brother shared a statement expressing deep loss, thanking the Arrochar Mountain Rescue Team for their efforts. Ure was described as a brother, best friend, and business partner, leaving a significant void in many lives. The Ray Summers paid tribute to their bandmate, calling him the "rock" in their lives and expressing sorrow for his family.
Beyond his music career, which included supporting acts like Paolo Nutini, Ure was a director of The Wee Whisky Shop in Linlithgow, West Lothian. Tributes have flooded social media from fans and fellow musicians, remembering his incredible stage presence and personal warmth.
