Stars' Fake Weddings: Love or Just for Likes?

Lavish ceremonies and emotional vows from celebrities are often perceived as authentic glimpses into their private lives. However, a recent report reveals that some of these highly publicized unions are not legally binding, functioning more as commitment ceremonies.

Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash's televised wedding, celebrated at their £1.2million home, has been disclosed as not legally official. Despite tying the knot in July 2022, the couple has not yet registered their marriage, reportedly due to busy schedules with their six children and lack of a civil ceremony license at their home.

This revelation follows similar instances, including reality star Olivia Attwood and Bradley Dack, whose £200,000 wedding documented for ITV was also found to have no official record with the General Register Office. The series showcased viewers watching Attwood sign a register, a moment now understood to be staged.

YouTube personality Jake Paul and Tana Mongeau's 2019 Las Vegas wedding, streamed online, was similarly revealed to be legally non-binding. Mongeau herself admitted the ceremony was for 'fun and content,' as the officiant was not licensed in Nevada.

Brody Jenner and Kaitlynn Carter's 2018 destination wedding in Indonesia also faced scrutiny. Jenner indicated they were married in spirit but had not completed the legal registration, and they separated a year later.

Vanderpump Rules stars Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney discovered in 2020 that their 2016 wedding license was never submitted. They later had a second, official legal wedding in July 2019.

Even Geena Davis and Reza Jarrahy, who were together for 17 years and raised three children, were revealed in a 2018 legal dispute to have never been legally married, as they never obtained a marriage license.
