Faith Leazae's EP: More Than Just Viral Hooks

Sacramento rapper Faith Leazae's new 16-minute EP, "Faith," is crafted for viral appeal, featuring a barrage of "vocal stims" and motivational energy. Leazae has spent the past year honing her lyrical abilities and vocal presence, evident in the EP's chronological song progression. Influenced by larger-than-life California rappers, her style compresses conversational sentences and shifts between yelps and whispers.

The production on "Faith" utilizes fun samples, complementing Leazae's rapping without overshadowing it. The EP's scrappy approach echoes the "sugar trap" era of artists like Rico Nasty. Leazae's father, T-Nutty, a prominent Sacramento rapper, has also influenced her musical development, with "Gimme a Penthouse?" interpolating his 2005 hit.

While the EP is primarily designed for high-energy car listening, two bonus tracks explore Leazae's range. The underlying motivational spirit in her lyrics and her persistent drive to entertain are key elements of her music. Leazae's commitment to her artistic vision, even when overcoming challenges like funding her debut show, exemplifies her tenacity.
