In a surprising turn of events, the stars of the hit Hulu show "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" are now making headlines for their reactions to the news that Taylor Frankie Paul has been named the new Bachelorette.
According to Jessi Ngatikaura, Mortensen's co-star, the reality TV star actually "liked" the video he made in response to the announcement. Mortensen, who was Taylor's ex-husband, took to TikTok to share a video of himself lip-syncing to a Lindsay Lohan parody, joking, "Is this how it works to be the next Bachelor?"
Ngatikaura praised Mortensen's approach, saying, "I was with him the next day, and I was like, 'I love that you did that because you just made fun of yourself.'" Mortensen explained that he had to "laugh at it, or else everyone's gonna do it for me."
Meanwhile, Taylor Frankie Paul, who was previously involved in a "soft swinging" sex scandal that ended her marriage to Tate Paul, acknowledged that her ex-husband's reaction might not be the "best news he's heard." She told Us Weekly, "I can't speak for him, but I'd assume it wouldn't be the best news he's heard on that day."
Despite the potential awkwardness, Taylor remains focused on her goal of finding love and walking off the Bachelorette set engaged. As she put it, "That's the goal here, and as my mom likes to say [that] I do fall in love quickly, and that's also the reason I did it."
