Excel Music Launches: Bollywood's New Sound Arrives

Excel Entertainment has unveiled Excel Music, a new label dedicated to music, marking a significant step in the production house's evolution. Universal Music Group is joining as a strategic shareholder, also serving as the marketing and distribution partner for this new venture.

The debut release from Excel Music will be the soundtrack for 'Mirzapur: The Movie,' scheduled to premiere in cinemas on September 4, 2026. The album's lead track features Dhanda, a well-known figure in the Haryanvi music scene, making his debut in Bollywood. This song is expected to be released this week.

With a rich history of acclaimed film soundtracks, Excel Music will now house music from Excel Entertainment's upcoming projects. The label also plans to release music from other filmmakers and production houses, aiming to become a comprehensive music destination.

Founders Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar expressed their excitement, viewing Excel Music as a natural extension of their passion for music. They anticipate collaborating with top talent to create music that resonates widely.
