Ewan Mitchell, widely recognized for his portrayal of Prince Aemond Targaryen in House of the Dragon, is taking on a distinctly different role in the upcoming short comedy film, Still Life. In this project, Mitchell steps into the shoes of a solitary retail worker whose life is meticulously organized around his unusual companions: a dozen mannequins.
His carefully constructed world is upended with the arrival of a quirky and lively young woman, played by Saura Lightfoot-Leon. This encounter promises to challenge his isolated existence and explore themes of connection. The film is written and directed by Oliver Hill, who has prior experience in the writers' room for House of the Dragon and has credits on projects like Wuthering Heights and Mickey 17.
Adding to the film's prestige, Oscar-winning composer Steven Price, known for his work on Gravity, has composed an original soundtrack. Fabien Frankel, also a star of House of the Dragon, serves as an executive producer. The film is a collaborative effort with multiple producers and production companies involved, including Csilla Tornallyay, Max Mark Frankel, Sophie Stacey, Saskia Greenhalgh, Alex Bedford, and Ben Parkin. Natasha Duursma is credited as the cinematographer, capturing the unique visual style of the narrative.
