Scottish actor Ewan McGregor is currently undertaking a significant expedition, sailing across the Atlantic Ocean from Scotland to Brazil. This unsupported voyage, which began in late August from Oban, Scotland, is expected to conclude later this fall in Brazil. McGregor is accompanied by his childhood friend and expedition partner, Eric Strickland.
The entire journey is being filmed for a forthcoming documentary series, 'True Wind.' Directed by David Alexanian, the series will capture McGregor and Strickland's efforts to remain self-sufficient while navigating thousands of miles at sea. Canada Goose is partnering with the expedition, providing specialized gear designed for extreme oceanic conditions, including their Sea Mantra product.
This maritime adventure follows a busy period for McGregor, who recently starred in the film 'The End of Oak Street.' Looking ahead, he is also scheduled to participate in a 2027 stage adaptation of 'Supernova' at Pitlochry Festival Theatre in Scotland, reuniting with Alan Cumming for the production.
