Ewan McGregor: 'My Wife Mary' Is Love

Ewan McGregor recently offered a touching perspective on love, identifying his wife, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, as the embodiment of it. While walking through SoHo, New York, McGregor was asked by a street interviewer about his definition of love. He unequivocally stated, "My wife Mary." When pressed on how he knew he was in love, the actor explained it's an innate understanding, something one simply knows without the need for analysis or questioning.

McGregor further asserted that love is not a choice, suggesting that any doubt about the authenticity of a relationship indicates it may not be true love. He married Winstead, his co-star from the series Fargo, in 2022. Prior to his marriage to Winstead, McGregor was married to Eve Mavrakis for 22 years, with whom he shares four daughters.

His relationship with Winstead began in 2017, the same year he separated from Mavrakis. Their divorce was finalized in 2020. In 2021, McGregor and Winstead welcomed their son, Laurie. McGregor has spoken about mending his relationship with his eldest daughter, Clara, following his separation from her mother, noting that their shared work on the film "Bleeding Love" helped bridge the divide.
