Europe's Top Filming Spots: La Palma & Figueira Da Foz Win Big

La Palma, located in Spain's Canary Islands, and Figueira da Foz in Portugal have been celebrated as premier European filming destinations. These accolades were bestowed at the ninth edition of the Location Awards, organized by the European Film Commissions Network and announced during the European Film Market at the Berlin Film Festival. La Palma's recognition stems from its selection as a filming site for the Netflix thriller series, contributing to its win of the overall EUFCN Location Award 2025. This marks the second time the Canary Islands have received this award, with El Hierro previously honored in 2019. The winning location was determined by a distinguished jury of industry professionals. Meanwhile, Figueira da Foz secured the EUFCN Audience Location Award, a public-voted prize, following its appearance in the drama series Broken Spies. This award highlights Portugal's capacity to host significant international audiovisual productions.
