Summary
- Euphoria Season 3 production began in early 2025 after significant delays.
- Several key cast members, including Barbie Ferreira and Storm Reid, will not return.
- HBO confirms that the upcoming season will be the show's last.
Euphoria's third season has commenced production in early 2025, after a prolonged delay that stretched nearly three years. The initial 2025 air date was impacted by creator Sam Levinson's other projects and the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. HBO confirmed its commitment to the show, allowing the in-demand cast to pursue other opportunities during the interim.
However, the upcoming season, confirmed to be the series' last, will feature significant cast departures. Barbie Ferreira, who portrayed Kat Hernandez, announced her exit in August 2022. Storm Reid, who played Rue's sister Gia Bennett, also confirmed she will not be returning for the final season. Additionally, Angus Cloud, who played Fezco, passed away in July 2023, and his character's fate is expected to be addressed.
Despite these changes, several original cast members are slated to return. Zendaya is expected to reprise her role as Rue Bennett, and Hunter Schafer will likely return as Jules Vaughn, though both have had busy schedules. Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, and Maude Apatow are also anticipated to return, with some having confirmed their availability. Colman Domingo will return as Ali Muhammed, but in a guest star capacity.
