She explained that the disease affected her ability to fully embody her character, noting that her presence was more pronounced in the finale, the episode filmed after treatment began. Moriarty shared that she initially experienced oversleeping and numbness in her extremities, prompting blood work that eventually led to her diagnosis after a lengthy process.
The actor’s health deteriorated to the point where she struggled with basic functions like speaking and cognitive presence, necessitating full medical disclosure to production. The show’s production team consequently made adjustments to accommodate her condition throughout the filming of the final season.
Moriarty previously revealed on Instagram that her illness had become so severe that she was losing her ability to walk, frequently falling and injuring herself, including a shredded knee the night before filming a segment.
