Erin Foster's Hit Netflix Series Returns with a Twist: Season 2 Not Inspired by Her Own Love Story

The second season of the popular Netflix romance series Nobody Wants This has arrived, but it is not directly inspired by creator Erin Foster's personal love story this time around. According to Foster, the character of Joanne, played by Kristen Bell, "does not have the same trajectory" as her own life.

However, co-showrunner Jenni Konner explains that Foster still contributes "emotional truth" from her real-life experiences to the show's writing. "So she is like Joanne, she has a very clear idea of who she is, what she wants, what she feels," Konner says.

The first season of Nobody Wants This was indeed a "love letter" to Foster's own marriage, but the new episodes are a mix of reality and fiction. This season also features a special guest appearance by real-life couple Adam Brody and Leighton Meester, who play an elementary school nemesis of Joanne.

Despite the changes, Foster hopes the characters will still find the same "ending point of marriage and kids and happy ending" as she has in her own life. The show continues to blend the creator's personal experiences with compelling storytelling that resonates with viewers.
