The campaign, attributed to 'Friends of the Dane Family,' quickly garnered significant donations, surpassing $280,000 as of Sunday morning. Notably, this sum included a substantial contribution from Euphoria creator Sam Levinson. The initial fundraising target was set at $250,000 but was subsequently increased to $500,000, with more than half of the original goal met within hours.
Eric Dane, known for his roles in Grey's Anatomy and Euphoria, passed away at age 53 following a battle with ALS, a condition he publicly revealed in April 2025. His family stated his death followed "a courageous battle with ALS." A friend of Dane's noted that the actor's illness impacted his ability to provide for his family financially.
