Eric Dane, known for his role in Grey's Anatomy and Euphoria, will posthumously appear in Euphoria season 3. The actor passed away on Thursday at the age of 53 following a battle with ALS. HBO confirmed that Dane had completed filming scenes for the highly anticipated third season before his health declined.
Dane played Cal Jacobs, the complex father of Jacob Elordi's character, in Sam Levinson's drama. He had spoken about his involvement in season 3, stating he filmed one day and that production was underway. He expressed confidence in the show's continued appeal.
His friend and co-star Sharon Stone recalled supporting Dane's pursuit of the Euphoria role. Dane publicly shared his ALS diagnosis in April 2025. The currently incurable condition affects nerve control and can impact breathing.
