Summary
- A YouTube series received an Emmy nomination in the short form category.
- Dropout, formerly CollegeHumor, failed to secure its first Emmy nominations.
- Key Emmy Award ceremony dates are September 5-6 and September 14.

The Television Academy has acknowledged the growing influence of online content by nominating "Subway Takes," a popular YouTube series, in the outstanding short form comedy, drama, or variety series category. This nomination recognizes Kareem Rahma's viral man-on-the-street interviews conducted on the New York City subway.
Despite this digital inroad, Dropout, the streaming service formerly known as CollegeHumor, has not yet achieved any Emmy nominations in its history. The platform submitted entries in eleven categories this year, featuring its shows "Game Changer" and "Very Important People."
Other prominent digital series also failed to secure nominations, including Sean Evans' "Hot Ones," a highly successful interview show. The final round of Emmy voting is set to occur from August 17 to August 26. The Creative Arts Emmy Awards and Governors Gala are scheduled for September 5-6, with the Primetime Emmy Awards broadcast on September 14.
