Emma Stone, Juan Soto Film Baseball Rom-Com at Citi Field

Oscar winner Emma Stone was recently at Citi Field to film scenes for her upcoming baseball romantic comedy, "The Catch." The movie, which also stars Chris Pine, is set to be released on May 21, 2027. During the filming, Mets star Juan Soto made a special cameo appearance, sharing the screen with Stone and even sharing a hug on camera for multiple takes.

Fans who attended the Mets game on Friday night were on notice that they were stepping onto a movie set. Signs around the ballpark informed attendees that they could be filmed and appear in the movie without compensation. Stone and Pine were on the field and in the dugout before the game commenced, with cameras rolling.

Directed by Dave McCary, Stone's husband, "The Catch" also features a notable cast including Tim Robbins and Sissy Spacek. Plot details remain under wraps, but Stone is reportedly playing a character known as the most hated woman in baseball.

In addition to his movie cameo, Juan Soto dealt with left calf soreness during the actual game against the Dodgers. He was pulled before the game concluded, having already received a rest day earlier in the week for the same issue. Soto drew two walks before being pinch-hit for in the sixth inning.
