Elvis Costello is pre-emptively celebrating the 50th anniversary of his debut album, *My Aim Is True*, by releasing a comprehensive five-disc box set on October 2nd. The collection, *My Aim Is True (49th Anniversary Edition)*, features 104 tracks, including 52 previously unreleased recordings.
The first disc offers a remastered version of the original album, blending U.K. and U.S. track listings. Producer Nick Lowe lauded the reissue as an "extraordinary work." Disc two, "The Blue Print," comprises 17 pre-*My Aim Is True* recordings from 1975-1976, featuring bedroom tapes and studio sessions.
Further unearthing the album's genesis, disc three, "The Stranger in the House," presents surviving demos and outtakes. "Becoming the Attractions" on disc four showcases live material from Costello's early gigs with the Attractions. The final disc, "Covered in Clover," is an unreleased 2007 reunion concert with the band Clover.
Costello's tour with The Imposters continues, with dates scheduled from September 10th to September 24th, including stops in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and Victoria, Canada.
